We decided to add Niagara Falls to our list while we were in Toronto for two reasons:
1. The Hostel we were staying at gave us a discounted day tour
2. Yolo. We were so close so we might as do it!
Upon arrival into Niagara Falls, you will see Rainbow Bridge which connects Ontario to New York state. Niagara Falls is made up of 3 different Falls, the most impressive and photographed would be the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian Side, followed by the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, both on the American Side. The Falls are located on the Niagara River and drains Lake Erie and Lake Ontario-more than six million cubic feet of water goes over the crest every minute.
CRAZY FACT : Annie Taylor was the first person to conquer the falls inside a Wooden Barrel on October 24, 1901 and survived!
First things first upon arrival, get in line for the Boat Tour! Don’t let the line scare you at peak season; it goes by quick and the “Hornblower” holds hundreds of Passengers! The boat ride is approximately 20 minutes and you will get wet! They take you shockingly close to the falls so make sure your camera is waterproof! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by Us!! 🙂
Niagara Falls was so much more than we expected! Be sure to check out Clifton Hill District. It is directed towards kids and is absolutely perfect for Families. We were blown away and all we could keep saying was “This is the Las Vegas strip for Kids!”
